Did you honestly think that we were teaching other people how to be queer? If you did, that's not the first time that's happened. Being queer is authentic as being human and it's time we really dig in to all the colors of the rainbow and all the layers of dirt...
Meet Kim (pronouns: she/her) and Alex (pronouns: they/them). They got married in November 2021 but met years before then. Deeply committed to each other, their 4 kids, 2 dogs and living a beautiful and very queer life, this blog shares details you won't necessarily get from our podcast nor someone else.
Kim's passion and skill in communication and empathy for people led her to the work she does in DEI. As Chief Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Officer for Rocky Mountain Public Media, her work pushes the heart of media to continue to diversify itself so all voices are seen and heard. Alex's passion for fitness, exercise and movement, a language they learned at an early age to express the things about themselves they did not understand, led them into their work as a coach and a trainer.
Growing up Gen X in the 80s/90s, where queerness was gaining visibility but through the AIDS epidemic lens, Kim and Alex live to speak their truth when the world behaves in a way that says, "Can you not?"
What's our why? To make the world more queer...in other words...braver, kinder, more colorful.
What do we do?! We podcast but we also provide training, coaching, and educational services on how to create healing within your schools, workspaces, businesses, and family. No said it would be easy, but it will be worth it. Lives depend on you expanding yourself. In the blogs, you'll get details, nuances and information to supplement the podcast. We operate from a no shame perspective. We get it; we were born into an era of shame and we've had enough of that!
Allyship is a holistic practice, and becoming one involves every part of you. As your loved ones come out and transition, so will you. We are meant to change with each other. It's how we're wired.
